A space for
every body

No more symptom searches or dead-end diagnoses. At Bodytech Osteo & Health we give you the know-how and tools to create long-lasting change to your body, mind and movement. We’re about real results, not quick fixes.

Signature treatments and classes at our boutique Sandringham Osteopathy & Pilates studio will both energise and restore you, drawing on a dynamic mix of mat and reformer Pilates, yoga-style and osteopathic techniques.

A science-based approach to holistic medicine

When you come in for knee pain we are asking, looking and investigating not only your knee pain but also the history and current state of your foot, ankle, hip and pelvic regions. Even then, we are sure to investigate any other (seemingly irrelevant) aspects of your physical history.

Remember that broken arm you had as a kid? That could be influencing what’s happening through your head and neck. Remember when you used to play footy and you kept spraining your ankles? That could be why you’re currently experiencing lower back and hip pain. Your history informs your current state of being.

At Bodytech Osteo & Health, we have a strong focus on manual therapy, in addition to movement therapy. We want you to feel good and move even better. You will likely receive exercises and stretches that are evidence-based and relevant to your presentation in addition to complete support even once you have left the treatment room.

  • Throughout my school years I was involved in high level Sport. From VIS gymnastics to National level Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics.

As a teenager I was diagnosed with severe scoliosis and I managed to hold off the surgery until I finished School. This lead me into Road Cycling and eventually Yoga! I am a Secondary School Health & Physical Education and Science Teacher and a qualified Yoga and Strength and Conditioning Instructor.

  • Accessible. As a School Teacher I am constantly adapting my teaching style to a range of ages, abilities, learning styles and situations to provide the best experience for each individual. I pride myself on making classes accessible, adaptable and enjoyable to everyone and every-body while guiding you to better connect within your own skin. So whether you're pregnant, injured, stressed, motivated or experienced, there is a class for you.

  • This is a common misconception and there is a perfect quote to address this: saying you're too inflexible to do Yoga is like saying you're too dirty to shower!

Have an open mind and give yourself an opportunity to try something new in an open and safe space. The aim is not to be flexible, the aim is to reconnect with your body. Anything else that comes from the practice is a bonus.

  • My interests lie in helping people acknowledge that their diagnosis doesn’t define them. Yes, diagnosis is important, however, learning how to treat, manage and grow stronger from it is something that you can expect from a consultation with me. Be sure to have your expectations managed if you come to the clinic with the intention of being ‘fixed’. You are on a journey with your body, and if you allow me to, I will be there to guide you towards feeling your absolute best.

I particularly love working with people who suffer from symptoms related to poor posture, or those who want to work on improving their posture in their day-to-day lives.

  • My treatment style is ever-evolving. The way I treated 12, 8 even 6 months ago is very different to the way I treat now. Why? Because I am constantly learning by reading, doing courses, engaging with other practitioners from other modalities etc. I learn, and then I integrate.

Generally speaking, I take a direct, ‘structural’ approach with an enormous focus on patient education. I use a combination of manual and movement therapy techniques. I work hard to collaborate with you (as the patient) to ensure that we are working together to achieve your desired outcomes. When you come in, I will ask “do you feel like movement, hands-on or a bit of both today?”. I am there as your guide as you take the wheel.

  • As a self proclaimed movement enthusiast, I love to do anything that will move my body. My recent obsession has been in the practice of yoga. It has been an incredible challenge learning to move my own body weight but it has certainly made me more mobile, strong and agile as ever.

Previously I have used crossfit, boxing, F45, Bodyfit, Kx Pilates, gym-based movements to keep fit. You name it, I’ve done it. I was also an elite level swimmer during my teenage years so I am well accustomed to the black line.

  • I tend to ‘use’ manual therapy on an as needed basis. I turn to movement therapy first if I have aches and pains after which, if I feel like my body still needs some assistance, I will reach out to colleagues to have some ‘hands on’ work done.

  • I use the ‘Koala’ pillow & mattress. I find they are firm and supportive with a cloudy, cuddly outer layer. One thing that is super dooper important with any pillow and mattress is how the two interact. Using your pillow on your bed at home could feel totally different to using it on a different mattress at your mate’s place.

It can be a hard and frustrating process to get right but when you do, you’ll be able to say hello to those sweet, sweet Z’s.
